Please do not think I am doubting your commitment.

I think all you can do is continue to push Laura daily and in turn she does the same.

I have already revised my target date to complete the option.

I cannot keep changing this date, can Laura ask the question of these civil servants when will

we have these answers.  As you know they usually stop working early in December then we are into another year.

 

If Laura  provides the details of what exactly she is waiting for and the date these were applied, I am happy to add pressure.

Afternoon David,

 

Just a suggestion as I can see how this plays out (emails back and forth next week and still no news come Friday) as such if this is the case I’m happy to send across £10,000 as a deposit and a show of commitment of our intent to purchase.

 

If for whatever reason (god forbid) there’s some major issues with the return of the searches/deeds, that makes the sale impossible then naturally the money to be returned.

 

We all want this tied up asap but I also want you to have faith that we’re committed to the purchase of the land, so you can therefore pursue the opportunities for the remaining 4 acres.

 

By all means, feel free to offer other options, but I’m just conscious that we could well be in this same position this time next week.

 

Whichever route you wish to take, I will be putting continual pressure on Laura to follow this through asap.

and get a named contact at the Borough, HMLR and NCC Highways to follow these through and state

she will ring each day to check progress, or she can escalate this to a complaint in the hope backsides are kicked and the matter is resolved.  It infuriates me when public employees hide behind pressure of work or illness.

 

Such behaviour is messing us all around, you wanting to get on and we to finalise other legal matters – sadly time to get tough.

What do you suggest though?!

 

Im not convinced a solicitor would facilitate the purchase of land without the key searches being returned? Nor would I be happy.

 

If you still have concerns about our commitment to buy is there anything that could be put in place around a deposit or something? 

 

I also need this wrapping up asap as I could well find myself shortly with a contractor looking to start work on the land asap.

Update on the searches – I think there has been some staff sickness/shortages at the Council in the searches department as our search provider has said that there is a backlog and delays due to the search office being unmanned for just over a week a couple of weeks ago.  This seems to have caused a complete snarl-up of the search process.  I’ve asked if we can get your searches prioritised on the basis that this is holding up exchange.  I’ll let you know as soon as I have an update on that.

 

Highways search is also still pending – again, I’ll get this chased in the hope that if I’m making a nuisance of myself they will get to your search quicker to get rid of me!!
